 Clay Classes

Arrange Pottery Tutorial for your Class

I will come to your classroom and do all the work

The children will learn the process of making their own creation. They get to see the transformation from clay to a finished glazed ceramic piece that can be treasured forever.

Option 1:

2 hour clay lessons in the classroom. Cost €260

What this includes: Clay for up to 20 children. Pre-prepared clay base for wall plaques plus extra clay for decorating. Use of various shaped cutters tools.

Bisques Firing and return of fired pieces.

Each Pupil will be given a rolled out oval shape of pre-prepared clay for the lesson and an extra ball of soft clay for decorating. I will advise and instruct the children on how to make their wall plaques. The pupils will learn about the process involved in making pottery and how clay becomes ceramic. After the lesson I will take the finished artworks back to my workshop to dry out and fire in my Kiln. They will be returned to the class teacher approximately a week to 10 days later.

The teacher can then decide if they want to paint them with class paints. (Bear in mind that as class paints are usually water based this will not be permanent,)

The children will have learnt and seen the process of transforming soft clay into a piece of pottery that they can be super proud of ☺

Option 2:

3 hours: Day 1: 2 hour designing & making. Day 2: 1 hour painting and glazing. Clay lessons in the classroom. Cost €340

What this includes: Clay for up to 20 children. Pre-prepared clay base for wall plaques plus extra clay for decorating. Use of various shaped cutters and tools. Non Toxic Glaze Paints, bisque and glaze firing of clay pieces.

Like Option 1 each Pupil will be given a rolled out oval shape of pre-prepared clay for the lesson plus an extra ball of soft clay for decorating. I will advise and instruct the children on how to make their wall plaques. The pupils will also learn about the process involved in making pottery and how clay becomes ceramic. After the lesson I will take the finished artworks back to my workshop to dry out and fire in my Kiln. I will return for a second lesson, this time I will have some non-toxic ceramic glazes in lots of bright colours that the children can use to paint and decorate their creations. I will take them back to my workshop to be fired once more before returning to the class within a week – 10 days.

The children will have learnt and seen the process of transforming soft clay into a permanent glazed ceramic piece that will last forever and that they can be so super proud of ☺
