Where is Creative Clay?

Ballycasey Craft & Design centre, Near Shannon Airport

This is where you will find my workshop. It's a beautiful place and I love going to work there every morning. Ballycasey Craft & Design Centre is a very peaceful oasis in Shannon, and a perfect place to drop into, on your way to or from Shannon Airport for a nosey (and some coffee and cake). I also have a great online shop and with social media and Instagram, you can see my work from the comfort of wherever you are in the world and we can chat via these platforms and talk about my work here. Isn't the internet just amazing?

This vase is from my Burren Collection. Inspired by the absolutely stunning and unique landscape of the Burren County Clare. If you haven't been yet, you just have to visit. You don't come to Ireland for the weather, you come for its sheer beauty, even when it is wet and misty.

All my vases are made from rolled out slabs of clay which are assembled to make the vase then the rugged rocky surface and flowers are applied (and of course my little ladybird). Then it is all hand-painted.  The ruggedness of my vases represent the erosion and fragility of the landscape due to the harsh conditions nature can create thus making each piece completely unique. I don't think there is any way I could replicate two pieces even if I tried.

Inspiration can even be found in my own back garden. It has been a bit neglected lately, but that doesn't mean there isn't beauty in it.
