Containers of Transformation

This new body of work marks a significant and deeper new direction in my practice. While continuing my inquiry into the "unseen inner wilds of the self," I am simultaneously pushing the boundaries of my medium, exploring new techniques in working with clay and focusing intensely on texture, deep carving, and layered surface effects.

These vessels are the literal Containers of Transformation.

These vessels explore the very structures that hold our potential. Their surfaces are intentionally raw and deeply textured, a physical map of the psychological terrain. Through deep carving, rich texturing, and distressed firing, the ceramic forms embody the complexity and densit of the ego's defenses that form the foundation of our being. They look elemental, like aged rock or bark, suggesting the deep "root system" we must explore to find freedom.
