Fuchsia Candle Holder — Handmade Irish Ceramic | Deora Dé

Fuchsia Candle Holder — Handmade Irish Ceramic | Deora Dé
I grew up visiting my grandparents in Ballyporeen, Co. Tipperary, where fuchsia tumbled over the front wall all summer long. That bright red, bell-shaped flower is such a fond memory. The Irish name for it is Deora Dé, God's tears, and that combination of wildness and warmth felt like the natural heart of this piece.
Fuchsia blooms and butterflies wind around the stoneware, painted in vivid red and purple underglaze and finished with a glossy transparent glaze, with my hidden ladybird tucked somewhere among them.
There is something quiet lovely about how the glow of the flame catches the flowers and lights them up. The wide, round base makes it safe for tealights or small pillar candles, any wax that collects in the base lifts out easily once cooled.
Handbuilt from stoneware clay in Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare. Each piece is made to order just for you, please allow around 4 weeks for delivery.
