Poppy Wall Plaque

Poppy Wall Plaque
The Irish called it cailleach dhearg, the Red Hag, and once named it the Witches Flower for its habit of appearing where it had no right to be, blazing from the edges of fields, pushing through cracks in the pavement, refusing to be tamed. This hand-rolled stoneware wall plaque captures that same defiant spirit. Bold hand formed red poppies and butterflies, painted in vivid underglaze colours, scatter across the surface, each plaque carrying its own slight warp and organic feel, the way handmade things do. Finished with a glossy transparent glaze, with my hidden ladybird somewhere among the blooms.
Available unframed in two sizes, or set in a simple frame for a more finished look. Handmade from stoneware clay in Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare. Each piece is made to order just for you, please allow around 4 weeks for delivery.
